WEATHER
by Djoyke Reijans-Cruden (Codam student)
This digitally painted collaboration with Melia Araya’s project for teenagers focuses on the journey of improving self-esteem. It portrays the metaphorical weathering of inner storms and navigating life's challenges.
By maintaining a balanced perspective of your identity and capabilities, you can learn to confront the differences between the world you experience and the actual environment you’re in. This self- reflection and critical thinking will serve as a guiding force during fluctuations of good and bad days, doubts, and obstacles. You hold the power to determine how you weather the storms of life and even grow amidst it all, much like trees swaying in the wind, shedding leaves but remaining rooted.
Each challenge becomes an opportunity for personal growth and transformation, just like the arrival of spring after a harsh winter. Ultimately, 'Weather' encourages embracing change and finding beauty in the cycle of renewal. The journey to resilience inspires us to stand firm and thrive in our ever-changing seasons.
